Plants growing in a grow tent

One of the first questions when you start a new grow is: how many plants will actually fit in my grow tent? The answer depends on the size of your tent and the growing method you go for. Below we break it down by tent size so you can plan for the best possible harvest.

60x60x180 cm grow tent

In a compact 60×60 cm tent, you're best off with one larger plant or up to four smaller ones. If you run a Sea of Green (SOG) setup, you'll work with several small plants, while a single larger plant is perfect for Screen of Green (SCROG). Check out our Dutch Masters ECO Grow Tent 60x60x180 cm.

80x80x180 cm grow tent

An 80×80 cm tent easily holds four to six small to medium-sized plants. With SCROG, two to four plants will give you the best results. Our Dutch Masters ECO Grow Tent 80x80x180 cm is ideal for this.

100x100x200 cm grow tent

A 100×100 cm tent gives you enough room for six to nine plants, depending on your technique. We'd recommend six plants so each one has space to grow and the light is spread evenly. The Dutch Masters ECO Grow Tent 100x100x200 cm is an excellent choice.

120x120x200 cm grow tent

This size is a favourite among experienced growers. You can comfortably fit nine to twelve plants. If you're doing intensive SCROG training, stick to a maximum of six plants for the best results. Take a look at our Dutch Masters ECO Grow Tent 120x120x200 cm.

150x150x200 cm grow tent

In a larger 150×150 cm tent, you can place twelve to sixteen plants. Want to give each plant more room? Go for nine plants at most and use SCROG to make the most of the available space. Browse our ECO grow tents to see the available sizes.

Tips to get the most out of your grow tent

  • Use a SCROG net to spread your plants evenly.
  • Make sure you have good ventilation to prevent mould and disease.
  • Choose lighting that matches the size of your tent.
  • Check temperature and humidity regularly to keep the climate on point.
  • Keep your tent clean and remove dead leaves to prevent disease.
  • Water enough, but avoid excess moisture, as it can cause root rot.
  • Leave enough space between plants so they don't compete for room and light.
