What fan size (m³/h or CFM) do I need for my grow tent?

Short answer

Work out the tent volume (width x depth x height in m³) and pick a fan that can move at least that much air per minute, so roughly 170 m³/h for a 120x120x200 tent, then add a lot of headroom for the filter.

A 120x120x200 cm tent is about 2.9 m³. One full air change per minute is about 175 m³/h (roughly 100 CFM; 1 m³/h is 0.59 CFM). That is the bare minimum on paper. A carbon filter and bends in the ducting cut the real airflow a lot, so most people go for a fan rated 1.5 to 2 times higher, around 250 to 350 m³/h for that tent, and turn it down with a controller.

For small tents up to about 80x80, a 100 m³/h fan like the Platinum inline fan 100 mm is enough. Browse inline fans and add a fan controller so you can slow it down.
