Water, pH & EC

What pH should my nutrient solution be?

Short answer

Roughly 5.8–6.3 for coco and hydro, and 6.0–6.8 for soil.

Nutrients only dissolve and get taken up within a certain pH window, and outside it you get lockout even with plenty of feed. Always adjust pH after adding nutrients, because they shift it, and let the solution rest a few minutes before measuring. Many growers let it drift a bit within the range rather than chase one number.

Measure with a pH meter you calibrate regularly, and adjust with our pH tools and pH up/down products.
