Aptus Substrate Buffer Liquid 1 L – fast substrate pH correction with micronised calcium
Coco and heavily fed substrates often drift to a low pH over a run, especially with soft water. For one or two tents, a litre of Aptus Substrate Buffer Liquid lets you correct that whenever it happens, without rationing.
Why growers use it
It is a liquid buffer made of micronised calcium in suspension, free from chlorides, ballast salts and contaminants. Because it is liquid, it acts quickly: one flush is usually enough to bring a low substrate pH back up and improve the buffer capacity of the medium. At the same time it provides a steady calcium supply. You can use it at any point in the cycle, in soil, coco and other substrates.
How far 1 L goes
At 20 ml per 10 L of water (1:500), one bottle makes 500 L of buffer solution. With a 50 L tank per flush, that is ten corrections.
Dosing
Check substrate or drain pH first. With a low reading, dilute 20 ml per 10 L of water and apply it as a flush. Keep this water separate from other products and do not adjust its pH. If you prefer not to measure, Aptus advises giving it once, a month after planting. Measure your drain between applications so the pH stays in range and you do not overshoot.
