Aptus Substrate Buffer Powder 10 kg – bulk calcium buffer for preparing large volumes of substrate
When you mix substrate by the cubic metre, for slabs, beds or a stack of big pots, the 10 kg bucket of Aptus Substrate Buffer Powder is the efficient way to buffer it all. It is pure micronised calcium, free of chlorides, ballast salts and contaminants, that raises and stabilises pH in any growing medium.
Volume per bucket
At 1 g per litre for soil, 10 kg buffers about 10,000 L, which is ten cubic metres. Coco takes 2 g per litre, so the bucket treats around 5,000 L of coco, or a hundred 50 L bags.
Good to know
Treating coco that has already been used once is where this size pays off fastest: the calcium upgrades it for another run and supplies steady Ca to the next crop. Mix it in once, before planting; there is no need to repeat the dose during the cycle. For mid-cycle pH corrections, Aptus makes Substrate Buffer Liquid.
Mixing at scale
Weigh out the dose per batch, for example 100 g per 50 L bag of coco, and blend it in a cement mixer or a large tub until it is spread evenly. Keep the bucket closed and dry between uses so the powder stays free-flowing.
