Why growers use it
The first weeks of veg decide how much root mass a plant takes into flower. RootBastic, from Atami's Bastics range, is a highly concentrated NPK 4-14-4 root stimulator. Its blend of minerals, trace elements, a plant extract and amino acids, led by phosphorus, supports a dense, branched root system and a quick, steady start. It works in hydro, coco and soil.
Yield for larger tanks
At 0.1 to 0.3 ml/L, 500 ml treats about 1,650 to 5,000 L of nutrient solution. A 200 L reservoir needs 20 to 60 ml per fill. Running the usual three-week build-up from 0.1 to 0.3 ml/L, one room's veg start costs around 120 ml, so the bottle covers about four such starts.
In practice
Give RootBastic during the first three weeks of veg, building up week by week. With bigger tanks, a 10 ml measuring cylinder is quicker than a syringe and still accurate. Shake before use, add it with your base nutrients, then measure EC, as RootBastic adds to it, and adjust your base feed if needed.
Store the bottle closed and cool; once your plants move into the later veg weeks, it can wait in the cupboard until the next batch.
