BioCanna Bio Vega 5 L – organic veg feed for soil grow rooms
Feeding a room full of soil plants by hand, organically? The 5 L can keeps you going through many veg phases and costs about a fifth less per litre than the 1 L bottle.
What's inside
BioCanna Bio Vega is an organic grow nutrient for soil from Canna's BioCanna range. It's rich in betaine nitrogen, which the plant absorbs readily and releases as needed, plus bio-active substances that support root development and strong shoots. Natural fruit acids buffer the solution, so there's no pH to adjust, and according to the manufacturer the BioCanna nutrients are OMRI-certified for organic growing.
Scale: about 2,500 L
Dissolve about 20 ml per 10 L of water (approx. 2 ml/L, 1:500) and feed 1–3 times a week, depending on pot and plant size. EC readings mean little with organic feeds, so go by the dose. The 5 L can therefore gives you around 2,500 L of feed water. A 50 L mixing barrel takes about 100 ml.
Working with larger batches
Since the diluted solution has to be used within 2 days, size your batches to what you water in that time rather than mixing for the week. Bio Vega isn't suitable for automatic drippers because of possible blockages, so plan for hand watering or a hose from a mixing barrel.
