CO₂ Bag Medium – Natural CO₂ Enrichment: product details and use
Simple CO2 enrichment for grow rooms and greenhouses
Alongside light, water and nutrients, carbon dioxide is one of the key factors for photosynthesis. In closed grow rooms or tents, CO2 levels in the air can drop quickly due to a lack of air exchange, limiting photosynthesis and therefore plant growth. The CO2Bag Medium is an easy, economical way to add CO2, with no need for electricity, a gas cylinder or a regulator. Inside the bag is a CO2Bag formula that starts producing CO2 once it comes into contact with oxygen. Depending on ventilation, temperature, humidity and the number of holes, the bag releases CO2 for about 1 to 3 months. Higher CO2 levels can support photosynthesis and have a positive effect on growth and the ripening of fruit and flowers, especially in well-sealed tents or rooms with little air exchange. Because CO2 is heavier than air, the gas released sinks down to the plants. Use: before first use, shake and knead the bag. Then use a pencil to pierce 3 to 6 holes in the top. Hang the bag higher than the plants, but not directly above them, ideally near the air intake, and make sure your extraction does not vent the CO2 straight outside. After piercing, it can take 1 to 3 days for the bag to become active. CO2 production starts slowly above about 20 °C; 25 to 30 °C and a humidity of 45 to 70% are recommended. If the powder level does not change for 1 to 3 weeks, the bag is too dry: make a cut of about 2.5 cm in the top and add 1 to 10 ml of clean water, 1 ml at a time. If water collects in the bag, pierce 2 to 3 holes in the bottom so the moisture can drain. Store unopened bags in a cool, dry place below 18 °C. The CO2Bag can be used in both the vegetative and flowering stages and works with any growing medium, as it only acts on the air in the room. Compatibility: the CO2Bag Medium can be combined with common grow accessories regardless of brand or system, such as circulation fans to distribute the CO2 evenly around the room and CO2 meters to check actual CO2 levels.
