After rooting in a propagation plug or starter plug, the young clone or seedling needs more growing medium volume to develop further before its final transplant onto the slab. The Grodan Delta NG2.0 block was developed for exactly this intermediate step and is a reliable propagation block for almost every crop. With a 40/42 mm hole, it takes common propagation and starter plugs directly, so the roots can grow into the block without transplant stress. NG2.0 technology is the further development of Grodan's proven Next Generation technology and improves water distribution within the block even further. This makes better use of the entire substrate volume and supports continuous, healthy root growth in the block. The fibres are vertically oriented, so all roots meet the same resistance and spread evenly throughout the block instead of concentrating on one side. The fine balance of small and large pores also ensures a good air-water ratio, so the roots always get enough oxygen and moisture. Because rockwool is inert, it neither binds nor releases any substances itself, leaving the nutrient solution and pH fully under the grower's control. Use: the Grodan Delta NG2.0 block is used after rooting in a propagation or starter plug by inserting the rooted plug into the hole provided (40/42 mm). With its height of 6.5 cm, the block is particularly suited to a 7.5 cm high slab as the next step in the grow cycle. Before first use, fully saturate the block with nutrient solution. It is typically used only in the early vegetative or propagation stage, before the plant is moved onto a larger slab or another final growing medium. The block is suitable for rockwool-based hydro systems.
