Why growers use it
RO and very soft water contain almost no calcium or magnesium, and coco tends to hold on to calcium itself. Matrix Cal/Mag, part of the Matrix MTX programme by Fenix MTX from Germany, fills that gap. Calcium supports the uptake of other nutrients, and magnesium keeps photosynthesis going right up to harvest. It earns its keep especially in late flower, when hungry plants have often emptied the substrate.
Working with a 5 L can
A dosing pump on your mixing tank, or a smaller bottle you refill from the can, makes daily mixing faster and more accurate. The manufacturer's dose is given in the Matrix MTX feeding schedule on the label rather than as a fixed ml/L online, so set your pump according to that schedule.
Stick to the right order: water first, then Cal/Mag, then base nutrients and additives, and finally a check of EC and pH. Store the can closed, dark and frost-free, and shake it before decanting.
