Matrix EnZym 1 L – root zone cleaner for rockwool and coco grows
If you grow in rockwool or coco and reuse slabs or run long cycles, dead roots are part of the deal. Matrix EnZym from the Matrix MTX line by Fenix MTX (Germany) deals with them. The 1 L bottle is meant for growers who add it to every run in a couple of tents or a medium-sized grow.
What's inside
EnZym is an enzyme mixture that breaks down cellulose and other polysaccharides from dead root material into water-soluble sugars. Those simply flush away with the irrigation water instead of staying in the substrate. The result is a cleaner root zone, which is exactly what inert media need, since they have no soil life of their own to clear old material.
Where it fits in your schedule
Add EnZym to your nutrient solution or directly to the substrate throughout the whole cycle, at the rate in the Matrix MTX feeding schedule. Fenix MTX recommends combining it with Matrix Rooting or Matrix Hydro Rooting, so roots get support while old material is cleared away. Shake before use, mix it in, then check EC and pH.
Good to know
Running drip lines? A clean root zone also means less organic debris in the runoff. Close the bottle tightly after each use and store it away from direct light.
