Large recirculating systems, a mother room producing trays of cuttings every few weeks, or several hydro tents in rotation: that is where the 5 L can of Matrix Hydro Rooting belongs. It holds five times as much as the 1 L bottle and brings the price per litre down noticeably.
What's inside
A liquid root stimulator from the Matrix MTX line, made by Fenix MTX in Gangelt, Germany. The formula is high in phosphorus with added trace elements, aimed at fast root formation in cuttings, seedlings and young plants. It is designed for hydro systems and can also be used in soil. Fenix suggests combining it with Matrix MTX EnZym for a clean root zone.
Dosing in big reservoirs
Dosing follows the Matrix MTX feeding schedule printed on the label; the manufacturer does not list a fixed ml/L on its website. In big tanks, precision matters because errors scale up, so use a dosing pump or a graduated cylinder instead of pouring from the can. Add it to the reservoir along with your base nutrients during propagation and early veg, then check EC and pH.
Storage
A 5 L can often lasts more than one season. Keep it closed, dark and frost-free, and shake it well before decanting, because ingredients can settle over time. Many growers fill a smaller bottle from the can for daily use.
