Product description
Plagron Batmix 50 L – pre-fertilised organic soil for a full tent
Filling a whole tent, or going for bigger pots? The 50 L bag is the economical choice: about a fifth cheaper per litre than the 25 L bag, and fewer trips to haul soil.
What's in the bag
Plagron Batmix is a ready-to-use, pre-fertilised organic substrate of peat, 10% perlite, worm castings, bat guano and fibres. Bat guano is the main nutrient source, rich in phosphorus for a strong bloom with good aroma and taste; worm castings feed the soil life and help hold water. It contains 10.5 kg/m³ of organic fertiliser (NPK 5.5-11-5.5), enough for roughly the first six weeks. pH (1:1.5) is 5.8–7.0, EC 1.3–2.0 mS/cm.
What 50 L fills
A 50 L bag fills roughly four 11 L pots or two 20 L pots. At 10.5 kg/m³ it contains about 0.53 kg of organic fertiliser, good for roughly the first six weeks of growth in those pots.
In practice
It's too strong for very young plants: wait 1–2 weeks or flush first, for example a 10 L pot with 5–10 L of water. Organic nutrients take about two weeks to become available, so start Alga Grow and Alga Bloom from around week 4. When you're potting up several plants at once, empty the bag into a tub first and break up any clumps, so every pot gets the same airy mix with its 10% perlite. Extra nutrition is usually needed after about six weeks. Store any leftover soil closed and dry for top-ups.
