Plagron Calmag Pro 500 ml – calcium and magnesium base for RO water in a home tent
Switched to an RO filter or growing under LED in one or two tents? Then the 500 ml bottle of Plagron Calmag Pro is the practical way to give every feed a stable calcium and magnesium base without buying in bulk.
Why it matters
RO and soft water contain almost no calcium or magnesium. Under LED lighting, plants also transpire less and therefore take up less of both. Calmag Pro forms the base of your nutrient water with a balanced Ca/Mg ratio (CaO 5.7%, MgO 3.3%, NPK 5-0-0), so the two do not compete with each other. Strong cell walls, plant resilience and young root growth all depend on a steady supply.
How far 500 ml goes
The maximum dose is 1 ml per litre (1:1,000). With RO water, about 0.75 ml/L gives a starting EC of roughly 0.4. That means one bottle makes 500 L at full dose, or around 650 L at the RO rate. With a 20 L tank, that is 25 to over 30 fills.
How to use it
Shake well and add Calmag Pro to the water first, before your base nutrient, with every watering. A 1 ml syringe or a small measuring cup makes the low dose easy in watering cans. Then add your base nutrients and additives and set the pH to 5.5–6.5. Measure EC after the Calmag step so you know your real starting point.
