Product description
Plagron Lemon Kick 500 ml – organic pH down based on citric acid
If you feed organically on soil and only mix a watering can or two at a time, a big can of pH down is overkill. The 500 ml bottle of Plagron Lemon Kick suits one or two cycles in a home grow. It's an organic pH regulator made from citric acid and water that brings your nutrient water down into the 5.5–6.5 range, where plants take up nutrients in the right proportions.
Why growers use it
Lemon Kick lowers pH without touching the EC or the NPK value of your feed. It also leaves the micro-organisms in your soil alone, which matters if you're building a living substrate. According to Plagron it's up to three times as effective as other pH regulators, so a little goes a long way.
Getting the pH right in a watering can
Always mix your nutrients first, then add Lemon Kick drop by drop and stir. Measure after every few drops with a pH meter or pH strips until you hit 5.5–6.5. How much you need depends on your tap water and your feed, so there's no fixed dose: write down what your usual mix needs, and next time you'll know roughly where to start. Calibrate your pH meter now and then so the reading stays honest.
