Potting up a few plants or starting a single tent? The 25 L bag of Plagron Lightmix with Perlite is easy to carry up the stairs and fills about two 11 L pots, or five pots of 5 L for young plants.
What's in the bag
Lightmix is a ready-to-use, peat-based mineral grow substrate from Plagron's 100% TERRA line, made for potting and repotting flowering plants. It contains peat, perlite, worm castings and fibres. A light pre-fertilisation of 1.5 kg/m³ mineral fertiliser (NPK 12-14-24) covers roughly the first week. The low EC (0.8–1.4 mS/cm) lets roots develop quickly, so seedlings of 1 to 2 weeks old can go straight in. Perlite keeps the mix airy and well drained, and the worm castings support growth and water retention. pH sits at 5.9–6.5.
Why a light mix
Because it carries only a small nutrient charge, you decide how much your plants get and when. That control is what many mineral growers want: no guessing how strong the soil still is in week three.
Getting started
Fill your pots loosely, water the substrate and plant. After about one week, start feeding with Plagron Terra Grow, and later Terra Bloom, from around week 2. You work with mineral nutrients, so check pH (5.5–6.5) and EC of your feed regularly. Lightmix gives the best results combined with the Terra line and Plagron additives.
