Plagron Lightmix with Perlite 50 L – peat-based grow soil for full tents and grow rooms
Filling a whole tent or several of them at once? The 50 L bag of Plagron Lightmix with Perlite holds enough for about four 11 L pots, or two to three 18 L pots, and costs noticeably less per litre than the 25 L bag.
Why growers use it
Mineral growers want a soil that does not get in the way of their feeding schedule. Lightmix from the 100% TERRA line is exactly that: peat, perlite, worm castings and fibres, with only a light pre-fertilisation of 1.5 kg/m³ mineral fertiliser (NPK 12-14-24) that lasts about one week. With an EC of 0.8–1.4 mS/cm and a pH of 5.9–6.5, it is gentle enough for seedlings of 1 to 2 weeks old, and the perlite gives an open structure with good drainage and root development.
Bags in practice
For a 120 × 120 cm tent with four 11 L pots, one bag is usually just right; for nine plants in 11 L pots you need two to three bags. Fresh soil settles after the first watering, so keep a little extra for topping up.
Planting and feeding
Loosen the substrate, fill the pots, water and plant. After the first week, start Plagron Terra Grow, and later Terra Bloom, from about week 2. Check pH (5.5–6.5) and EC of your nutrient solution regularly. An opened bag keeps well if you fold it shut and store it dry and out of the sun.
