Sonodec Sonoconnect 254 mm x 10 m – acoustic duct for quieter extraction
A fan that's fine on paper can still hum through the whole house. With a 254 mm bore and 10 metres of length, this roll is aimed at larger fans and filters in a grow room where noise really carries.
What 10 m covers
Ten metres is enough for one long exhaust run from filter to outlet, or to cut into two pieces: one for extraction and one for fresh-air intake. Because the duct itself absorbs sound, every metre you run in Sonoconnect instead of plain ducting takes noise out of the line.
What's in the wall
Sonodec Sonoconnect is a flexible duct with acoustic and thermal insulation: a micro-perforated aluminium/poly inner hose, a diffusion- and dust-tight barrier and 25 mm glass wool under an aluminium/poly laminate jacket. Sound is absorbed before it leaves the duct, and the insulation limits condensation when warm, humid air meets cooler surroundings. Rated from -30 to +140 °C.
Fitting a 254 mm duct
Check the 254 mm diameter against your fan, carbon filter and flanges before you start. Keep the run as straight as possible and avoid tight bends for full airflow. To cut it, pull back the insulation, cut through the inner hose and outer jacket, then pull the insulation back over. Seal each end with aluminium tape and a hose clamp.
