Sonodec Sonoconnect 315 mm x 10 m – insulated acoustic duct for big extraction
At 315 mm you're moving a lot of air, and a lot of air makes noise. This 10 m roll lets you run the whole exhaust side of a larger grow room in insulated duct, from the filter all the way to the outlet.
What's in the wall
Sonodec Sonoconnect is a flexible duct with acoustic and thermal insulation: a micro-perforated aluminium/poly inner hose, a diffusion- and dust-tight barrier and 25 mm glass wool under an aluminium/poly laminate jacket. Sound is absorbed before it leaves the duct, and the insulation limits condensation when warm, humid air meets cooler surroundings. Rated from -30 to +140 °C.
Where 10 m makes a difference
Long runs through a loft, cellar or neighbouring room are where noise and condensation cause trouble. Ten metres of Sonoconnect covers that full stretch in one piece, so you don't need joints in the middle. Prefer to treat intake and exhaust? Cut the roll in two.
Installation at 315 mm
Measure the 315 mm diameter against your fan, filter and flanges first. Plan the route with as few bends as possible, and support long horizontal sections so the duct doesn't sag. To cut it, pull back the insulation, cut through the inner hose and outer jacket, then pull the insulation back over. Seal each end with aluminium tape and a hose clamp. If the duct passes through a cold space, the insulation also helps keep moisture from forming on the outside.
