Are air pots better than normal pots?

Short answer

Air pots and fabric pots let roots air-prune at the edge, which gives a denser root ball, but you need to water more often.

The roots stop at the sides when they meet air and branch out instead of circling, which is the main advantage. For beginners who tend to overwater, standard pots are fine and easier to manage. Fabric pots dry out faster, so check them daily.
