Soil, coco or hydro: what should a beginner start with?

Soil buffers mistakes in pH and feeding, and some mixes already contain nutrients. Coco gives faster growth and you must feed regularly and watch pH (about 5.8 to 6.2). Hydro gives the best results when set up well, and the least room for error if a pump fails.
