HPS, UV and the right wattage
High-pressure sodium lamps are a proven choice for flowering thanks to their warm, red-heavy spectrum. A 600W lamp is a common pick for a 100x100 or 120x120 tent; 1000W suits larger rooms with plenty of extraction. Remember that HPS produces noticeable heat, so plan your ventilation alongside it. UV fixtures from LUXELITE and Hortimol are used as a supplement to a main light, not as the only source.
Ballasts, reflectors and control
Every HPS lamp needs a matching ballast: electronic models run cooler and are often dimmable, while magnetic ballasts are simple and robust. A good reflector spreads the light evenly over your canopy, and timers or controllers from Platinum, Lumen King and Cli-Mate keep your day and night cycles consistent.
